Stella had a 3 month volunteer experience with us.
I’ve had an amazing time working on my Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award with Art4Space! At the Community Arts Centre, I’ve been busy setting up workshops, supporting classes, and helping out with studio tasks. One of the highlights was running the Christmas Market at Crystal Palace Vaults with Julie, where we raised £800 from our kanzashi flowers, upcycled mosaic birds, and art-in-a-box range.
I really enjoyed helping the tutors prepare the workshops for everyone. Working in the new Make and Mend textiles space was a lot of fun—I got to support participants in making purses, amulets, and doodle stitching projects! I also had the chance to take kintsugi, pottery, and mosaic classes, which taught me to be more organised and supportive of everyone involved.
I’m excited to take what I’ve learned and dive even deeper into my love for the arts. A huge thank you to Art4Space for such a rewarding experience and for giving me the opportunity to grow and learn in such a creative environment!
