Painting: The Abyss of Creative Curiosity – By Kim

The marks made by the bristles on the paint brush, the gliding of a palette knife, the
unpredictability of colours melting into one another, the discovery of merging acrylic paint into
another medium… These are just some of the components which bring me joy when painting.

I paint to explore, I paint to ground myself at the start of a work day, I paint to give myself a break,
I paint my emotions, I paint to block emotions. Painting serves many benefits, as it is not always
about producing a nice piece of artwork, it is about connecting with ourselves, embracing the
process and allowing ourselves to fall into the abyss of creative curiosity, and it is in my passion
to share this painting journey with others. For those who haven’t painted in a long time and is
wanting to re-gain connection, to those who haven’t touched a paint brush before or in a very
long time and is seeking to own that confidence and to those who are experienced painters but
searching for new ideas and exploration – it is in my willingness to spread the joy and positivity
of painting.

I am delighted to be sharing my practice with Art4Space, where I have developed a collection of
painting workshops of different themes with all materials provided and a space of relaxation and
inspiration.
I invite you to join me in these workshops with an open mind and inquisitiveness.
