Welcoming Our New Patrons
Art4Space has always been shaped by people: artists, neighbours, educators, and supporters who believe in creativity and arts as a catalyst for change. As we grow, it feels the right moment to welcome our new patrons who genuinely understand and value this work.
These are individuals whose lives have been rooted in creativity and who recognise the importance of giving people a place to belong. Their support isn’t about prestige. It’s about shared values and a shared belief that art changes lives.
Dame Joanna Lumley DBE
Joanna has spent her life telling stories, travelling, and standing up for people who need a voice. Her warmth and generosity are well known, but what matters most to us is her belief in dignity, kindness, and human connection. She understands the role creativity plays in building confidence and belonging, and we’re delighted she’s chosen to support our work.
Sir Mark Rylance
Mark’s artistic achievements are extraordinary, but what drew us to him is his commitment to young people and community-led creativity. His work with Intermission Youth Theatre shows how deeply he believes in the power of the arts to shift lives. His support strengthens our work with children and schools, and we’re proud to welcome him as a patron.
Dame Joan Bakewell DBE
Joan has spent decades championing culture, fairness, and the right for people to live with dignity at every stage of life. Her advocacy for older people aligns closely with our creative ageing programmes, where art becomes a way to connect, express, and stay visible. Her voice brings depth and integrity to our mission.
Eileen Cooper OBE RA
Eileen’s work has always centred on honesty, emotion, and the human experience. As an artist and educator, she has supported generations of emerging creatives. Her belief in accessible, meaningful artmaking mirrors our own. We’re honoured to have her insight and experience guiding us forward.
Looking Ahead
These patrons bring different strengths, but they share a belief in creativity as a force for good. Their support helps us continue doing what we do best: creating spaces where people feel seen, valued, and inspired.
We also have another potential patron in the wings, someone whose work I’ve admired all my life. It’s early days, but very exciting, and we hope to share more soon.
This is an important step for Art4Space, and one that feels true to who we are. I’m seriously over the moon with gratitude. You can read about all of our valued patrons here.
Thank you, Jewels xxx
