Overview

Art4Space work with mental health referral partners across the community, including doctors and the NHS. We provide weekly supported creative therapeutic sessions where clients can work on independent projects using a range of art materials.

Our focus is better mental health through creativity and mindfulness. Building relationships with one another, networking, sharing resources, skills, ideas, community integration and to build resilience within the group to embed lifelong coping strategies and resources to maintain well-being and good mental health on an ongoing basis.

Creative health, according to the National Centre for Creative Health (NCCH), is defined as “Creative approaches and activities which have benefits for our health and wellbeing.”

  • Weekly sessions offering a peer led space for creativity and wellbeing, connection, community and mindfulness
  • Sessions include personal mosaic and ceramic projects, which will develop as sessions increase
  • The creativity lead structure enables participants to gain confidence in the environment where they are all valued, this will aid as a prevention as well as recovery for many in the wider community
  • Encouraging others to benefit and develop from regular creative practice alongside some mindfulness, to gain support, friendship networking, well-being, health, gaining confidence and generally finding meaning again

  • There is a maximum of twelve clients per session
  • Thanks to Agathos, we have some free funded places for our Peer Support with Gemma
